Land Related Litigation is an area of particular interest to our real estate developer clients, as the progress or the impediment thereof often translates to significant financial implications. It is therefore essential that developers fully understand the many legal implications or obstacles in its prosecution of development works.

The team of solicitors have for many years of experience advised real estate developers and assisted in resolving land related disputes. Recently, the firm successfully acted for a developer in a contested litigation case under the Lands (Compulsory Sale for Redevelopment) Ordinance, which enables a developer who owns not less than 90% of the shares in the land to force the remaining owner(s) to put the land on auction for the purpose of redevelopment. With massive resumption of land by the Government to make way for major infrastructure projects, the number of contested resumption claims may rise considerably.
