Giving Back to the Community
Lawyers in So, Lung & Associates feel privileged to have received much from our practice and they recognize their responsibility to give back to the community especially to the under-privileged and the weak. Members of the firm are encouraged to actively participate in community services, pro bono representation, and charitable organizations. The following represents a few of organizations in which members of this firm are involved

A. Community Care
Christian Fellowship of Pastoral Care For Youth

Christian Fellowship of Pastoral Care For Youth Limited is a Christian charitable organization established in 1992 to help youths assigned to various children centres, who have committed crime or have exhibited behavioral problem. They also provide assistance to youths susceptible to criminal influence. A parent centre has been set up to guidance to help parents of the youths. Our
senior partner Mr. Lung Siu Wing has served on its board for the past
few years.
The Board of Management of the Chinese Permanent
Cemeteries (BMCPC) http://www.bmcpc.org.hk
The BMCPC is a statutory body set up for the purpose of managing the second largest cemeteries in Hong Kong. In addition to this role, BMCPC is also one of the largest givers of funds to various charities. Our
senior partner Mr. Greg So serves as a member of the Board and the Chairman of the Executive Committee.
The Dragon Foundation

The Dragon Foundation was initiated jointly by
the Home Affairs Bureau and Home Affairs Department
of the Hong Kong Government and The Hong Kong Federation
of Youth Groups. The vision of the Foundation is
to facilitate networks among Chinese youth worldwide,
while encouraging their creativity and participation
in community building. Mr. Greg So serves as a
Director of the Dragon Foundation.
B. Public Services The Democratic Alliance for the Betterment of
Hong Kong (DAB)

The DAB is one of the largest
political parties in Hong Kong and our senior partner
Mr. Greg So is a member of the Central Committee
and the Standing Committee. Mr. So's interest
is in the area of policy formation and he is
currently the Chairman of the Policy Committee.
Mr. So is also spearheading DAB's effort to
support families in Hong Kong.
C. Education
International Christian Schools

Our senior partner Mr. Greg So feels
privileged to have been a part of the International
Christians School (ICS) since the school's beginning
in 1992. ICS is more than a school, it is a community
and is in the business of changing life. Mr.
So has previously served as a board member of
the school and remains in the capacity of an
advisor.
Lingnan University

Our senior partner Mr. Greg So
is honoured to be appointed by the Chief Executive
as an ex-officio member of the Council and Court
of Lingnan University. Lingnan University is
unique because it aims to bring about a new era of
liberal arts education to Hong Kong and the
region.
D. Hospital Authority

The Hospital Authority is a
statutory body established on December 1st, 1990
under the Hospital Authority Ordinance to manage
all public hospitals in Hong Kong. Our senior partner
Mr. Greg So has been appointed a Member of the
Hospital Authority for a term of two years
effective since April 1st, 2006.
E. Christian Services
Yan Fook Church

EFFC Yan Fook Church is
a local church in Hong Kong with a congregation
of about 4,000. The Church has recently purchased
a piece of land near Lai Chi Kok MTR station
and developed thereon a complex with 200,000
sq. ft. to serve the Church body and the local
community. The Church has helped hundreds of
broken families and individuals facing adverse
situations. Mr. Lung has served on the board
of directors for a number of years and was
the Chairman of the board last year. Our

Mr. Lung Siu Wing and his wife are now serving
a group of 300 young adults in the Church.
EFFC Tin Shui Wai Tin Yan Church (Tin Yan Church) is a local church in Tin Shui Wai, Yuen
Long established about 7 years ago to serve Tin Shui Wai, one of the
fastest growing regions in Hong Kong. Most of the residents, including
many new arrivals from Mainland China, come from the grass root level.
Family and youth problems are common. Tin Yan Church, a branch of Yan
Fook Church, serves to spread the gospel and to help the local families.
Tin Yan Church applied for and was awarded a day care centre last year by
the Social Welfare Department. It will care for more than a hundred infants
in the Tin Shui Wai area. Mr. Lung Siu Wing has served as an elder in
the past and remains an active member of the
church. Evangelical Community Church

The Evangelical Community Church
(ECC) was established in 1988 with a group of 70
English-speaking members of the Kowloon Tong
Alliance Church. The formation of the ECC is to
provide a unique opportunity for those attending
to examine afresh the teachings of the New
Testament. Mr. Greg So has served as an elder of
ECC and remains an active member of the Church. |
